Since the [[September 11 attacks|terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001]], neoconservatives in the party have supported the War on Terror, including the [[War in Afghanistan (2001–2021)|War in Afghanistan]] and the [[Iraq War]]. The [[Presidency of George W. Bush|George W.
