== Secretary of State (2025-present) ==
On January 19, 2025, the vacancy for Secretary of State was made clear in a spreadsheet for the Powers-Welson administration. Reyes saw this and decided to apply with the President, Vice President, and White House Chief of Staff in several interviews and meetings where Reyes said that they were "impressed" with his answers and initiatives for the Department in the future.
Reyes was considered a top candidate for the position, only with Chief of Staff Mordechai Siegel in competition with him. Reyes stated that the President had to "ease" the Chief of Staff into the nomination, to which Reyes did himself. He was nominated on January 24, 2025, after just being in consideration for 5 days. He was considered during a session on January 25, where he was passed.
He was sworn in at the Naval Observatory by Vice President Welson moments after being passed.
