Editing Glenngate scandal

The '''Glenngate scandal''' was a major political scandal involving President Glenn Bourbon and a series of leaked screenshots, which spawned a DOJ and Congressional investigation, which began on January 10th and ended on January 11th, 2025. This scandal would ultimately lead to the resignation of President Glenn Bourbon, and a switch of political affiliation from the White House, switching from Republican to Democrat control.

== Invocation of the 25th amendment against Leo Stone ==

On January 10th, at 4:50 P.M. EST, Vice President Glenn Bourbon and a majority of the Cabinet voted in favor of invoking the 25th amendment against President Leo Stone. Two votes were conducted. Glenn Bourbon would become Acting President, and Leo Stone would publicly announce his desire to fight the invocation. The reason for the invocation was for many reasons, the main reason, according to Vice President Glenn Bourbon.
 Bourbon and the members of the Cabinet who voted in the affirmative, was due to the fact that Leo Stone had been kicked out of the Republican Party, and was forced to become an independent. The reason why Leo Stone was kicked out of the Republican Party was for four main reasons, mainly the pardon of Representative Kash Smore and the intention of giving Scott Irons the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

What was supposed to be a temporary measure, quickly became permeant as Leo Stone decided to tender his resignation, ending the fight against the invocation. Leo Stone claims he did this because he believed Congress would have voted in affirmation of the invocation, though many modern and contemporary scholars suggest that there was enough support in Congress for Leo Stone to retain his Presidency.

Glenn Bourbon was sworn in on January 10th, 6:00 P.M. EST. Following Leo Stone's resignation, Glenn Bourbon went from Acting President to the President of the United States.

7 hours later, on January 11th at 1 A.M. EST, a screenshot would be leaked by an unknown source (later confirmed to be Press Secretary Scott Irons), of President Glenn Bourbon bragging to a White House staffer that the invocation against Leo Stone was planned since "day one", that Glenn had been "building support for a while", and that practically he manipulated the Cabinet members to vote in favor of the invocation, due to the fact that Glenn Bourbon used his nice facade to trick the Cabinet members.

Eight minutes after this screenshot leaked, Nota Tentacles, a Representative, would publicly post the screenshot in legislative feed. Two minutes after that, Dick Tentacles would post the screenshot. Two minutes after that, a whole twelve minutes after the screenshot leaked, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and Speaker of the House Justin Powers announced that he has received evidence incriminating Glenn Bourbon of 18 U.S. Code § 371, or conspiracy to defraud the United States government. For the next hour, the country would explode.

A voice call would be created around 2 A.M, a full hour after the screenshot leaked. There, many figures such as the Attorney General, a Judge of the District Court of Washington, D.C., White House Chief of Staff, former President Leo Stone, and many other famous figures came to gang up on President Glenn Bourbon, whom was present. President Bourbon would deflect, not denying the screenshots validity, but claiming he didn't mean it. The voice call would last an hour.

Polls would be released, asking the country if they approved of President Glenn Bourbon. 35 votes would come in, a high number for a poll, concluding that President Glenn Bourbon had a 9% approval rating, the lowest out of any President in BRUS history.

President Bourbon would release a letter about the controversy. The letter has been closely studied by historians up to this day, and they conclude what the people at the time concluded. It answered nothing. Nearly every White House staff would resign.


== Glenn Bourbon's conspiracy to destroy BRUS == balls penis balls penis balls penis
On January 11th, 2025, at 2:15 P.M. EST, the former United Kingdom Prime Minister would release a screenshot depicting Aidan Adams, the former Prime Minister of New Zealand talking about a conspiracy between him and Glenn Bourbon to destroy BRUS. This screenshot is from October of 2024, three months before this scandal ever happened, but it eerily shows things that would come to happen in the future, such as Glenn "gaining high power".

== House Judiciary hearing on Glenngate ==
Speaker of the House and Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Justin Powers would issue three subpoenas: the Attorney General, the Secretary of Defense, and the White House Chief of Staff. Around 10 minutes before the hearing, the President would fire the Attorney General and Secretary of Defense. During the hearing, Glenn Bourbon began getting implicated in a lot of crimes. President Bourbon then showed up to the hearing. Lucas Bennett and Nota Alt excused themselves from the hearing to speak with Glenn Bourbon in private. We do not know what was exchanged, but when they came back, the once steadfast Glenn Bourbon, who repeatedly refused to step down, announced his resignation, in front of both the members of the committee and those in attendance.

== Aftermath ==
Glenn Bourbon would go on to tender his resignation as President, leaving the Presidency to Justin Powers, the Speaker of the House. It's unknown whether Glenn Bourbon will be prosecuted, but the nominee for Attorney General has publicly admitted that if they are accepted they will pursue the charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States (18 U.S. Code § 371)
