Media outlets began reporting on October 1, 2009 that Comcast was in talks to buy [[NBC Universal]]. Comcast reported that third-quarter net profits in 2020 fell 37 percent to $2.02 billion from $3.22 billion the previous year, in part due to the limited capacity measures for the [[COVID-19 pandemic]] at theme parks like [[Universal Destinations & Experiences|Universal Studios]] and movie theaters, with revenues falling 4.8 percent.
